AMBAR, coordinator of the MIES project, is a Spanish SME specializing in the integration of global communication systems. It has always shown a strong commitment to research and development of innovation activities and their mission is to offer its clients quality services for all their technological needs, including 24/7 professional services. The core activities in the firma are engineering and integral maintenance, focusing as well on Data Communications, Bundled Communications, Security Systems, Hospital Leisure Systems and Advanced Managed Services. Ambar several proprietary and pioneering solutions have been developed for the e-health market, all through the AMBAR SALUD line of activity.
The Photonics Engineering Group (GIF-UC) of the University of Cantabria contributes its extensive previous experience in sensor design and development and also in signal processing. The tasks are mainly focused on the design, development, integration and test the main sensing blocks to indirectly obtain data during the activities and on the data process engine to offer additional information. The group has the ability to design and manufacture all kinds of prototypes, these skills are necessary to design and develop the whole devices proposed in the project. The group has also access to the central services of the University of Cantabria: mainly, electron microscope and material characterization services and also access to the central services of IDIVAL.
IDIVAL was created as a place for biomedical research, knowledge generation and socioeconomic tractor for the region as a result of the relationship that has been maintained over the years between the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital (HUMV) and the University of Cantabria (UC). The close collaboration between IDIVAL, UC, HUMV and the Health System, is allowing it to foster basic-clinical collaborations and a fast-growing and excellent research activity, specifically oriented to generate new knowledge helping to solve the medical problems of the population. It is an accredited institution by the Health Institute Carlos III (ISCIII), and re accredited on June 2020 for a 5 years period, meaning that the work performed at IDIVAL meets the highest standards of quality.
